Probe sought into postgraduate medical admissions

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI, JULY 1. The All-India Students Federation today demanded a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the alleged irregularities in the selection of candidates for the postgraduate (PG) medical courses.

In a statement here, the State secretary, R. Thirumalai, said the State Government should take ``stern action against persons who were responsible for these irregularities'' in the PG entrance examinations.

The Director of Medical Education should quit, owning moral responsibility for the manner in which the candidates were selected for the PG courses, he said.
