`Contract killer' nabbed

NEW DELHI, JUNE 30. Delhi Police today claimed to have arrested a contract killer from northeast area of the city wanted in a murder case in Uttaranchal.

Acting on a tipoff that an absconding criminal would come to Seelampur area of the city for committing a crime police yesterday conducted vehicle checks and arrested 19-years-old Intkhad Alam alias Bunty, a resident of Udhamsingh Nagar in Uttaranchal. A countrymade pistol and a stolen motorcycle was recovered from him, police said.

During his interrogation Alam reportedly revealed that he was involved in a contract killing and had taken money to eliminate a famous businessman in Uttaranchal, police said.
