Airtel's new roaming scheme

COIMBATORE: Airtel has unveiled a package for free incoming calls while roaming for both post-paid and pre-paid subscribers in Chennai and Tamil Nadu circles in lieu of a monthly rental. It offers free incoming calls (for Tamil Nadu post-paid subscribers) while roaming in Chennai, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh for a monthly rental of Rs. 25 per circle (for subscribers under the Freedom 249 plan), the CEO and Director (Mobility), Southern Hub of Bharti Cellular, P. Swaminathan, said in a release.

To have free incoming calls in all the four circles, the subscribers should pay Rs. 100. Post-paid subscribers should call 98940-12345. Prepaid subscribers can avail it at Rs. 40 per circle and at Rs. 125 for all the circles. They have to type ROAM and send an SMS to 750.

For post-paid subscribers in Chennai, incoming will be free while roaming in Tamil Nadu at a monthly rental of Rs. 40 (for those under Rs. 150 plan) and Rs. 25 (for those in plans above Rs. 150). Pre-paid subscribers in Chennai would have to pay Rs. 40.
