4 held, ration rice seized

SALEM, JULY 3. The Salem Food Cell police today have arrested four persons including two employees of a fair price shop at Yercaud for attempting to transport rice meant for the food-for-work programme to an undisclosed destination.

The police seized 233 bags of rice and two lorries. A team of police officials rushed to Yercaud and found two lorries being loaded with rice bags in front of the fair price shop. After an enquiry, the police arrested two employees along with the lorry drivers, Ravi and Shankar.
