KANCHEEPURAM, JULY 3. Road, streetlights and drinking water facility to Kalakattur will be taken up with Rs. 4-crore cess fund released by the Mines department to this panchayat, according to the Collector, R. Venkatesan. Speaking at a function after declaring open a maternity centre at the village near here on Friday, the Collector said the basic infrastructure works would be completed with a year and it had also been proposed to desilt a irrigation tank in the village. He called upon the residents of nearby Nedunkal panchayat to make best use of the maternity centre set up at Kalakattur and cooperate with the officials for effective implementation of total sanitation project at Nedunkal.
