UDUPI, JULY 3. Thieves broke into a house in the city and made good with Rs. 34,000 in coins in the early hours on Thursday. But timely action by the police helped in recovering the amount. The Udupi town police said that during the night beats police noticed three unidentified persons moving in a suspicious manner in the Budnar area at 3.15 a.m. On seeing the police, the thieves threw the gunny and plastic bags they were carrying and fled from the scene. Police found coins amounting to Rs. 33,000 in the bags. Later in the morning, they found that thieves had broken into a house in the town. Investigation is on.
