The mangled remains of a bus and a truck that collided at Adyar on Saturday.
MANGALORE, JULY 3. Six persons were injured when the bus they were travelling by collided with a truck near Adyar, 15 km from the city, on Saturday. The Mangalore Rural Police have registered a case and are investigating. In a separate incident in the Mangalore Rural Police Station limits here on Saturday, one person died when he was run over by a bus. The deceased has been identified as Leo Concessao (70). The driver of the bus has been taken into police custody.
Injured
Mahesh Krishna Prasad, an employee of The Hindu, met with an accident at Baambila village in Bantwal taluk on Saturday. According to a complaint lodged by his brother-in-law with the Venoor police, Mr. Prasad was on his way to the office on his motorcycle when he was hit by an ambulance. Mr. Prasad, who suffered injuries in the head and hand, was shifted to Kasturba Medical Hospital, Ambedkar Circle, and from there to Kasturba Medical College, Attavar. The doctors attending on him said that his condition was stable. Venoor police are investigating.
