Women lawyers seek facilities

By Our Staff Correspondent

BELGAUM, JULY 3. Women members of the Belgaum Bar Association have urged the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court, N.K. Jain, to provide basic facilities at the court.

In a memorandum submitted to the Mr. Jain on Saturday, they said that about 150 of them were practising in various courts in the city.

The accommodation provided to them was too old and there was a lack of space. The building had no proper facilities, they said. During the rainy season, it was often flooded. Though there was a toilet, there was no water connection, they added.

They said that taking into account the growing number of women advocates, they needed a more spacious accommodation and more toilets.
