HYDERABAD, JULY 3. The Joint Action Committee of Andhra Pradesh State Government Pensioners' Associations has urged the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, to release the DA arrears to members in one instalment. A delegation of the committee, which called on Dr. Reddy here on Friday, appealed to the Government to enhance the medical reimbursement to members from Rs.75,000 to Rs.1 lakh on par with the serving employees, who are in need of medical help, to provide death relief fund, bus pass concession to senior citizens, as available in the railways, and allot house sites to homeless pensioners. A press release issued by V. Narayana Reddy, chairman, and K.T. Venkatacharulu, secretary-general, said the Chief Minister, who patiently heard the problems, told them to "sort out the issues." The statement said the committee had voluntarily given its consent to contribute 4 per cent of DA arrears due to members to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund towards free power supply to farmers.
