Four killed in shootout

BALIA, JULY 3. Four persons, including the vice-chairman of the district panchayat, were killed today in a shootout here, police said.

The panchayat vice-chairman, Akhilesh Singh, and his three supporters were shot dead in the PWD office campus.

Another person who received serious bullet injuries was rushed to Varanasi for treatment.
