HYDERABAD, JULY 3. The Langer Houz police arrested one, Md. Moulana Ikram of New Delhi, who allegedly cheated 130 persons and collected Rs. 25 lakhs by offering them to provide new motorcycles at the half the price. According to the police, Ikram came to the city about a month ago and started publicising his `scheme'. He asked clients to pay Rs. 30,000 and take a brand new motorcycle after a week. Likewise, he collected money from 130 people. However, the police grew suspicious, as he did not insist on any instalments, to be paid in the future. After inquiries, he was taken for questioning where he spilled the beans. Ikram was planning to escape after collecting Rs. One crore. He was arrested on charges of cheating.
Kidnap case registered
The Narsingi police registered a kidnap case against two persons after they allegedly abducted one, John Prasad of Hydershahkote on Friday night. According to the police, Prasad had borrowed Rs. 50,000 from one Narsimha Rao of Vijayawada. When Rao insisted on repayment, he started avoiding him. Rao came to the city on Friday and took Prasad to a room in Kukatpally, where Prasad promised to repay the sum. However, Rao along with his friend, Vijay, once again went to Prasad's house, when he raised an alarm. Following this, the locals handed them over to the police. In his complaint, Prasad said he was being taken forcibly by the duo.
