Stir threat against revenue secretaries system

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, JULY 3. The Andhra Pradesh Panchayati Raj chamber has threatened agitation if the Government goes ahead with the system of Revenue Secretaries in Gram Panchayats.

The working committee of the chamber met here on Saturday, presided over by Y.B. Rajendra Prasad. He said the Government had in principle decided to do away with the powers of the existing Gram Panchayat Secretaries in all the 21,943 villages and replace them with Revenue Secretaries under pressure from the Revenue Department and employees associations.
