KOCHI, JULY 3. The academic council meeting of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit held here today decided to start certificate courses in Vedam, Mimamsa and Vedanga under the Centre for Vedic Studies. Duration of these evening courses will be six months. There will be 20 seats each available in all the three courses. Candidates with degree in any discipline can apply for the programme. There is no age limit for applying to the courses. The meeting decided to organise the syllabus and guidelines for the conduct of examinations of post-graduate diploma in Hindi translation and MA theatre courses. It also approved the syllabus for the newly introduced MA English course. The University will start M.Phil-Ph.D integrated course from 2005 onwards. Students who complete the M.Phil course will get admission for Ph.D without submitting the thesis under the new programme.
