HYDERABAD, JULY 4. The AP Transco has chalked out a three-point plan to redress the grievances of rural consumers received through the recent Government programme `Rajiv palle bata.' This plan involves creation of an `employee performance tracking system' to monitor resolution of complaints at section and sub-station levels, implementation of citizens' charter and creation of consumer fora. According to a press release, separate administrative mechanisms are being created in all circles for ensuring quick follow-up of complaints and suggestions received during the `Palle bata' programme. The power utilities are also considering re-training programmes for their employees to help improve their skills and make them more consumer-friendly. All complaints received have already been recorded, documented and the consumer is given an acknowledgement. The action has already been initiated into the complaints received so far. These include sanction of additional transformers, electrical poles and conductors for farmers, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes colonies to solve the low-voltage problem. Moves are also afoot to enhance capacity of distribution transformers from 63 to 100 KVA and shifting of 33 and 11 KV lines passing over houses, electrification of `thandas' and power supply to rural water supply schemes. In Ranga Reddy district, specific actions are being taken to change power supply from Mangalpalli to Manneguda sub-station in Ibrahimpatnam mandal, sanction electricity metres, power connections and new sub-station at Malkavaram village and providing transformer in Nazdiksingaram village. Similar action is also being undertaken in Warangal and Anantapur districts. A detailed report will be submitted to the Government on the action taken by the power utilities and the measures taken to improve future service.
