AJMER, JULY 4 .The annual urs of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti, which attracts pilgrims from all over the country and abroad, will begin at his dargah here next month, the dargah committee announced here today. It would begin on August 17 or 18 subject to visibility of moon and will conclude on August 22 or 23, a dargah committee spokesman said. The Jumma Namaz will be held on August 20, he said. The flag hoisting ceremony will be held on August 12 at Buland Darwaja of the dargah to herald the coming of urs. The holy flag accompanied by hundreds of devotees, qawal parties and bands is brought in a procession from nearby dargah committee office for its ceremonious hoisting atop Buland Darwaja. Arrangements for the urs have begun with the dargah building getting a facelift and tents being erected to cover areas near main mausoleum in view of the rainy season. PTI
