Greece wins Euro 2004

LISBON, JULY 4. Angelos Charisteas headed home a 57th minute corner to give rank outsider Greece a 1-0 win over host Portugal in the European Championship final on Sunday.

Greece arrived at the championship without a single victory in a major championship. Otto Rehhagel's men also beat Portugal in the opening game in Porto three weeks ago. — AP
