Registration for Amarnath yatra starts

JAMMU, JULY 5. The formal registration of the Amarnath Yatra started here and pilgrims thronged to get themselves registered.

The first official current registration for Amarnath yatra commenced today as this will be for the first time during the past 15 years that the yatra will continue for 45 permitted days

Pilgrims from all parts of the country lined up to get registration forms. Later on, chaos prevailed at the pilgrims tussled with each other to jump the queue.

Some of the pilgrims came to the registration hours before the counters opened for the day.

Meanwhile, security along the Jammu-Srinagar highway has been stepped up which passes through the route of the yatra.
