ASC blanks Central Excise
BANGALORE,
JULY 5.
Army Supply Corps crafted a 4-0 win over Central Excise in the V. Karunakaran & D.S. Murthy Memorial all-India inter-club hockey tournament at the KSHA stadium. Asif Ali scored thrice (23rd, 56th and 59th), while Harpreet scored one in the 37th minute.
In another match, Pioneer Corps Training College beat Canara Bank 4-1. Sairaj and S. Mundu had a brace each, with Sairaj scoring in the 10th and 35th minutes of the match. Mundu scored in the 22nd and 53rd minutes but also muffed a penalty stroke hit earlier. Kamal Horo, playing as a guest for Canara Bank, scored in the 24th minute.
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited registered a 3-1 victory over Vasu (Hubli). Sabu Varkey scored in the 15th minute, followed by Len Aiyappa's penalty corner push in in the 23rd minute. Amar Aiyamma scored the third goal for BPCL in the 28th minute.
Vasu's Prakash scored the consolation goal in the 50th minute.
