KURNOOL, JULY 5. The former MLA, Masala Eeranna, staged a sit-in at the Collectorate here on Monday to protest against sanction of house-sites on the tank bund at Aluru. Mr. Eeranna said the sites were given in a prohibited area at the behest of the Minister, M. Mareppa. Human habitations there would pose a threat to families in the village as well as the beneficiaries. Mr. Eeranna squatted at the grievance cell inside the office and later gave a memorandum to the Joint Collector, Mukesh Kumar Meena.
Seva sangham's plea
The president of the District Nayibrahmana Seva Sangham, V.V. Ramana Murthy, has urged the district administration to restore the rights of M. Srinivas, whose kiosk was removed from Chautukur. In a representation, he said the barber was forcibly displaced by locals from the place where he had been living for the last 30 years.
