Nine children die of food poisoning

By Our Staff Correspondent

PATNA, JULY 5. Nine children died after consuming contaminated "prasad" at a temple in Birangabad village of Vaishali district on the occasion of "Guru Purnima" on Friday. Seven children died on Sunday, while two others passed away today. Fifty persons are undergoing treatment. Special medical camps have been set up in school premises for treating patients who complained of nausea and vomiting. The district officials were gathering information about the condition of those who were taking treatment at places outside the district.

Those who had stayed back in their villages had either fallen victim or had taken ill.
