Railway timetable deferred

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI, JULY 5. The annual All India Railway Timetable has been deferred by two months. According to an official release today, "Trains At A Glance," scheduled to be effective from July 1, 2004, will now be published and enforced from September 1.

The delay is due to the delay in presentation of the Railway Budget 2004-05 on account of the Lok Sabha elections.

The Railway Budget provides for introduction of new trains, extension of services of some trains and increase in the frequencies of some others. "Trains at a Glance" will have to incorporate them.
