Garment exporters to visit Canada

COIMBATORE: The Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) will organise a buyer-seller meet in Canada in September. According to the AEPC Chairman, A. Sakthivel, meetings will be held with the Canadian buyers in Toronto (on September 9 and 10) and Montreal (September 13 and 14). The main items of export to Canada now included jackets, sportswear, T-shirts and women's wear. He said that in 2002, garment exports from India to Canada were $265 million. Apart from this, the council would organise a "mega show" in the European Union in September, he added. — Our Staff Reporter
