Boy's body found

CHENNAI, JULY 5. The body of a seven-year-old boy was recovered this morning from an abandoned well at a desolate spot in Avadi.

Chengai East police said the parents of K. Gokulraj, of Mahatma Gandhi Nagar, filed a complaint with the Pattabiram police station on Friday that their son had not returned from school. The boy's relatives and the police searched for two days without any success.

Initially a case of drowning was registered, but police later changed it to Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (Murder) after injuries were noticed on the boy's face, neck and abdomen.
