COIMBATORE, JULY 7. The Coimbatore City Police have nabbed two persons and recovered 15 two-wheelers worth Rs. 5 lakhs from them. Following a series of two-wheeler thefts, the City Police formed a special team, which fanned out in different directions and found that two-wheelers stolen from this region were being disposed of in Madurai. Following this, the teams arrested Raja alias Rajkumar (25) and an onion merchant Kannan, both hailing from Madurai. While the former was residing at Thudiyalur, the latter used to visit the region once in a while. Interrogations revealed that they disposed of two-wheelers through Seeman of Madurai, who had already been arrested and nearly 30 two-wheelers recovered from him. The two-member gang was reportedly involved in stealing of two-wheelers for the last one year and had cases pending in R.S. Puram, Kattoor, Sai Baba Colony, Ramanathapuram and Singanallur police limits in Coimbatore city and Thudiyalur, Vadavalli and Periyanaickenpalayam police limits in Coimbatore Rural District.
