ERODE, JULY 8. As the water level in the Lower Bhavani Project (LBP) reservoir has increased, farmers are now hopeful of getting water for irrigation. Due to the inflow of 2,179 cusecs of water today into the LBP reservoir, the level has risen by 80.30 feet as against the full level of 120 feet. Sixteen tmc ft of water is being stored in the reservoir today as against the full capacity of 32 tmc ft. As much as 1,500 cusecs of water is being released today into the Bhavani for irrigation. Already, as per the directions of the Madras High Court, water has been released into the Thadapalli, Arakkankottai and Kalingarayan canals.
