Letters to the Editor
Sir, Those were the days when we had meaningful and wholesome entertainment on television. The common man could relate to characters in serials such as Hum Log and Nukkad. But today we have serials that depict characters and incidents that hardly have any bearing on day-to-day life. The lifestyle is lavish, extra marital affairs are common and so on. The screenplay changes to suit the schedule of actors. So much so that the heroine of a popular serial was sent to Hardwar for a while because she had to campaign in the recently-concluded Lok Sabha elections.
