Hassan
By Our Staff Correspondent
HASSAN, JULY 8. The students of various colleges in Hassan, led by the Students' Federation of India (SFI), took out a procession here on Thursday urging the Government to break the impasse in the admissions to professional courses. The students blocked traffic and condemned the Government's delay in solving the problem. They submitted a memorandum in this regard to the Deputy Commissioner. While addressing the students, the district unit secretary of the SFI, Kantharaju, said that parents were anxious, as the fee structure announced by the Government was exorbitant. He said that the fee would hinder poor students from pursuing their education. The decision of the Consortium of Medical and Engineering Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K) had only added to the confusion, he said. Mr. Kantharaju urged the Government to expedite the matter in favour of the students.
