HYDERABAD, JULY 8. The Police Department is going to auction 940 used vehicles, including the level-2 car of the Chief Minister's convoy that was damaged during the claymore mine attack at Alipiri. The auction will be held in four cities of the State between August 2 and 28. These vehicles include Ambassador cars, Maruthi Gypsy, mini buses, trucks and motorcycles (Bullet), the Additional DGP (Police Transport Organisation), M. Bhaskar, said at a press conference here on Wednesday. The maximum number of vehicles would be auctioned at Hyderabad (681) followed by Vijayawada (89), Visakhapatnam (86) and Tirupati (84). Tender forms will be available at the respective PTO offices. Those interested can inspect the vehicles to be auctioned, after paying an entry fee of Rs. 100 per head. The prospective buyer has to pay another Rs. 125 if a mechanic to examine the vehicle accompanies him or her, Mr. Bhaskar said. The auction will be held from August 23 to 28 at Hyderabad and vehicles can be inspected between August 16 and 20.
