CHENNAI, JULY 8. Tondiarpet zone in North Chennai got an infrastructural facelift after the Chennai Corporation declared open several facilities, including public toilets and bathrooms for women, additional classrooms in Corporation schools, gymnasia and health centres, on Thursday. The facilities were constructed at a total cost of Rs. 65.6 lakhs and were concentrated in divisions 4, 5, 6, 9 and 10. Contributions from the area development fund of the R.K.Nagar MLA, P.K.Sekar Babu, and Ward development fund of the respective councillors, were made towards construction of the buildings. The facilities were inaugurated by the Local Administration Minister, K.P. Anbazhagan, according to a Corporation press release.
