Kempegowda Award for 15

BANGALORE, JULY 8. The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) has selected 15 persons from the city for Kempegowda Award 2004. The Mayor, P.R. Ramesh, announced the list of award winners on Thursday.

A panel of experts comprising the former judge, High Court of Karnataka, A.J. Sadashiva, the environmentalist A.N. Yellappa Reddy and the writer Agrahara Krishnamurthy handed over the list to the Mayor.

The achievers include N. Marishamachar (art), Iqbal Ahmed (theatre), R. Marulasiddappa (literature), Rahul Dravid and C.K. Krishna Jetty (sports), B. Ramesh (medicine), K.E. Radhakrishna (education), Almitra Patel (environment development), Shivaji Ganeshan (journalism), H. Sharathchandra (science), Vamanachar (industries), Sudha Narayana Murthy (social service), Trivikarma M. Mahadeva (citizen service), B.K. Satyanarayana (founder of Bangalore Laughter Club) and Savita J. (handicapped sportsperson).
