Girls fare better than boys in SSLC supplementary exam

BANGALORE, JULY 8. A pass percentage of 23.16 has been recorded in the SSLC Supplementary examination held in June this year. As many as 2,90,961 candidates appeared for the examination, of which 67,403 have passed, according to the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB).

The results will be announced in all the Government high schools, recognised private schools and junior colleges and also at the board office at 5 p.m. on Friday. Marks statements and pass certificates will be sent to the institutions concerned shortly, the Director (Examinations) has said.

Girls, with a pass percentage of 23.61, have fared slightly better than the boys (22.93 per cent).

Students belonging to Scheduled Tribe category (20.14 per cent) have done better than the Scheduled Caste students, who have recorded a pass percentage of 14.86.

In all, 24.14 per cent rural students have passed in the examination compared to only 22.52 per cent passes among their urban counterparts.

As much as 21.42 per cent of the candidates from the Government schools have passed, while 25.12 per cent of the candidates who appeared from private schools have passed in the examination.

In all, 411 malpractice cases came were detected.

The last date for submitting applications for re-totalling for all subjects and to get photostat copies of answer scripts for Mathematics, Science and Social Science papers is July 19. Students should send the applications, attested by heads of institutions concerned to the board directly.

The results are also available on the following websites: www.kseebd.com, www.atindia.com, www.vidyalaya.com, www.indiainfo.com, www.thatskannada.com, www.karnataka.com, www.educhoice karnataka.com and www.educhoice.org.

Apart from this, students can access results by calling Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Ph: 1255225 in Bangalore. Those from other parts of the State may call Ph: 9580-1255225 and those outside the State may call Ph: 080-1255225. BSNL mobile phone users can get the results by dialling 12506.

SSLC 2005

The SSLC examination for 2005 will be held from March 17 to March 24, according to the board.
