PONDICHERRY, JULY 9. The new Lieutenant Governor, Lt. General (retired) M.M. Lakhera, told political leaders, legislators, officers, industrialists and representatives of various associations, who met him separately in the Raj Nivas here today that he would discharge his constitutional duties `in a fair and impartial manner', an official release said. The Chief Minster, N. Rangasamy, the former Chief Minister, P. Shanmugham, the legislators, M.A.S. Subramanian (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam), A.M. Krishnamoorthy (Bharatiya Janata Party), and the president of the Pondicherry State BJP committee, R. Kesavalu, met him today. They promised full support to Mr. Lakhera in the discharge of his duties.
