NIZAMABAD, JULY 9. An agent, who promised to send rural youth in search of employment to Gulf countries, attempted suicide by consuming pesticide in Talveda village in Nandipet mandal, about 40 km from here, on Friday. According to the Nandipet SI, Nagabhushanam, 40-year-old Beeranna, worked in the Gulf countries for some time and developed contacts with local people there. After returning to India he started provided visit visas to rural youth by charging them Rs. 1 lakh. He managed to send a couple of youth to the Gulf countries. Last year, he also managed six visit visas for his relatives and took Rs. 94,000 from each person. He sent them abroad but three of the youth were apprehended at the Dubai airport and deported back as they failed to clear the doubts of the airport authorities there. On return, the three youth started pestering the agent for return of the money. Beeranna reportedly agreed to pay back a part of the amount he had taken from them. The issue even went to the notice of the Nandipet police, who summoned the agent as well as the victims. As the deadline to pay the money neared, Beeranna consumed pesticide and was found in an unconscious state. His family members rushed him to the District Headquarters Hospital where the doctors gave him a stomach wash and declared the patient out of danger. A case was registered in the Nandipet police station.
