CHENNAI, JULY 9. Southwest Monsoon has been vigorous over Rayalaseema and active over South Interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at most places over coastal Karnataka and Rayalaseema, at many places over Kerala, Lakshadweep and South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over Tamil Nadu, North interior Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The following stations recorded heavy heavy rainfall in cm. Nargund (Gadag dt.) and Kerur (Bhagalkot dt.) 11 each, Agumbe 10, Kollam 9 and Alapuzha, Subramanya (Dakshina Kannada dt.) and Bangalore 7 each.

FORECAST (Valid until Sunday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over Kerala, Lakshadweep, Coastal and South interior Karnataka and at a few places over North Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Andhra Pradesh.

HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over Kerala, Coastal and South interior Karnataka during the next 48 hours.
