New Intelligence Bureau chief

NEW DELHI,
JULY 9.
The Government today appointed Ajit Kumar Doval, an Indian Police Service officer of the 1968 batch of the Kerala cadre, as the new Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), it was officially announced here. Mr. Doval replaces K.P. Singh, who has been posted as Secretary (Security) in the Cabinet Secretariat. Mr. Singh, an IPS officer of the 1966 batch, is superannuating on August 31. Mr. Doval's appointment as the next IB chief was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) today.
