Troops for Ethiopia

NEW DELHI,
JULY 9
. The Deputy Chief of the Army Staff, J.B.S. Yadava, today bid farewell to men of the 13 Kumaon Battalion who will join the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Ethiopia-Eritrea (UNMEE). The first batch of 200 men will leave on July 16 and relieve the 15 Sikh Light Infantry Group.
India, a major contributor to U.N. peacekeeping operations, has sent an infantry battalion to Lebanon and a `composite group' to Congo.
