HYDERABAD, JULY 9. Two escort constables were allegedly beaten up by two handcuffed prisoners on the Ranga Reddy district court premises while they were being taken back to the Cherlapalli jail after attending trial of their case. "The prisoners -- Roshan and Javed -- were infuriated as escort constables refused to allow the former to meet with their family members at the court," the L.B. Nagar police said. The duo was charged with several property offences and arrested by the Cyberabad police. On Friday, Roshan's wife and his friend, Soyal, came to meet him at the court. After the court timings, Roshan and Javed were being ushered in into the van by the escort party, when Soyal tried to talk to Roshan. As the escort party refused to allow Roshan to talk to them, the latter entered into an argument. The accused suddenly pounced upon the two constables -- Anil Kumar and Ramu -- and beat them. However, the constables overpowered them. Later, they lodged a complaint with the L.B. Nagar police, who registered a case under section 353 of the IPC. The matter was reportedly taken to the notice of the Magistrate also.
