HYDERABAD, JULY 9. Junior Doctors have opposed the recent GOs 184 and 185 regarding medical admission stating that these go against the Supreme Court guidelines. Addressing the press here on Friday, the AP Junior Doctors' Association president, Suresh Babu, said that these GOs allowed non-aided private medical and dental colleges to fill management quota seats (full payment) without considering the EAMCET merit list first. It was only after the merit seats were filled that the full payment management quota seats could be offered to students, as otherwise meritorious students too would be compelled to take admission against full payment seats. In a letter to the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the Junior Doctors' Association requested him to amend these two GOs according to the Supreme Court judgment before counselling started. They also demanded that the GOs make it clear that even for admission in management quota the EAMCET merit list be followed. They said that no deviation from this principle would be acceptable to the medicos.
