Rain possible over the

The maximum and minimum temperature recorded at Safdarjung was 37.2 and 30.2 degree Celsius, while Palam recorded a maximum of 37.6 degree Celsius and a minimum of 29.7 degree Celsius. While no rainfall was recorded, the maximum humidity was 62 per cent in both areas, with the minimum being 41 per cent in Safdarjung and 40 per cent in Palam.
Three booked for prostitution
Acting on a tip-off that a woman had been running a prostitution racket, the police sent a decoy to strike a deal with her. The suspect asked the decoy to meet her near Ansal Plaza. Subsequently, a trap was laid and the woman arrested along with the other two women of foreign origin. During interrogation, the pimp disclosed that she had hired the foreigners for prostitution against payment of 300 dollars each. The two were in India on a six-month visa.
Man robbed
of cash
According to the police, Dal Chand Gupta, a resident of Paharganj in Central Delhi, was going home in his Maruti car from his shop in Yamuna Vihar when three young men riding a motorcycle intercepted his car last night. They forced Mr. Gupta to part with his bag, which contained Rs. 3.15 lakhs, and fled. One of them also fired in the air before escaping.
Bribery case
According to the police, Rajpal Singh, a resident of Mehrauli in South Delhi, complained to the ACB that land record keeper of Mehrauli tehsil was demanding Rs. 300 as bribe for issuing a document on July 6. The next day, a trap was laid at the tehsil office and the land record keeper, Leela Dhar, and the tout, Mahesh Chand, a resident of Nangloi, were arrested. Leela Dhar had asked Rajpal to give the money to Mahesh.
Arrested
According to the police, a police team had laid a trap on Ring Road-Bhairon Road crossing in New Delhi on Thursday night. The suspect appeared on the scene and was apprehended. The truck he was driving was also seized. A search led to the recovery of 14 quintals of poppy husk, hidden in a specifically made cavity. The accused has been identified as Charanjit Singh, a resident of Muzzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. It came to light that Charanjit had purchased 35 bags of poppy husk from U.P. and was on his way to deliver the consignment to his contacts in Punjab and Haryana. He told the police that he was selling the husk at Rs. 700 per kg.
