WARANGAL, JULY 11. Two naxals were killed in an exchange of fire between two groups in the forest area near Oddugudem village of Tadvai mandal here on Sunday. According to unconfirmed sources, different squads of Prathighatana and Peoples' War met in the forest area to finalise the strategy to be adopted for the proposed talks with the State Government. Following heated exchanges between the groups, one of the members reportedly fired at one Yadanna alias DVK Swamy, killing him on the spot. The others immediately fired at the member killed him too. However, it was not clear whether Yadanna belonged to Peoples' War or Prathighatana. According to another version, the exchange took place between two revolutionary Communist Party groups over allegations of swindling of funds. When contacted, the Superintendent of Police, K. Srinivasa Reddy, said the police had no idea whether the exchange took place between two groups or within a group. When a police team reached the spot, it found nothing. "The naxals took away the bodies. It appears that there was some internal rivalry. The villagers said one of the injured was left outside the forest area, who, was later taken away by some unknown persons towards Eturunagaram for treatment. We are still verifying the facts," he said.
