Tackling deception

By Our Staff Reporter

ELURU, JULY 11. Are women deceptive? The Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, dwelt at length on the nature of the fair sex, during his Rajiv Palle Bata programme in West Godavari district on Sunday.

A woman at Kothagudem falling under Ungutur Assembly constituency enlivened the programme with an interesting conversation. "There is a talk in our village that the former Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, had told you that he was deceived by women and the same lesson will be repeated in your case too." She further said women were not deceptive in nature and requested him to strive for their all-round development.

Dr. Reddy said he and the Congress would trust women a lot since the party has a woman president (Sonia Gandhi). "I don't let down women nor treat them as deceptive. The question of women deceiving me will not arise," he quipped drawing applause from the gathering.
