Bonalu: liquor seized despite ban

HYDERABAD,
JULY 11.
Liquor worth Rs. 1 lakh, allegedly sold by owners of Vaishnavi Wines at Patelnagar in violation of the temporary ban imposed by the police in view of Bonalu festival, was seized by the Chatrinaka police on Sunday night.
A police party led by S. Srinivasa Charyulu was patrolling Patelnagar when it found some persons gathered in front of a building, 100 yards away from Vaishnavi Wines. When the doors of the room were broke open, the police found liquor bottles stored inside.
In another incident, five cases of liquor were found concealed in a room near Bhavani Wines at Chatrinaka. The Chatrinaka police alerted the Charminar Excise Station Inspector, Narsimha Reddy, when they spotted some persons moving suspiciously near a building.
