NEW DELHI, JULY 12. The Supreme Court will hear on Wednesday an application from the Karnataka Government seeking permission to adopt the 75:25 formula for selection of candidates for admission to professional courses in the State for the academic year 2004-05. A Bench of Justice Ruma Pal and Justice Arun Kumar will also hear all connected matters relating to admission to professional courses in the State. The Bench fixed the date of hearing today. The application stated that the Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Engineering, Medical, Dental and Indian Systems of Medicine (ISM) and Homoeopathy Courses Rules, 2003 was prepared to give effect to the Supreme Court order. The quota for government seats and management seats in unaided colleges was fixed at 75:25 with regard to medical, dental and engineering and 30:70 for ISM and homoeopathy courses.
