Former Photo Editor passes away

CHENNAI,
JULY 12.
A former Photo Editor of The Hindu, S. Kothandaraman, died here today, after a brief illness. He was 75.
Joining The Hindu as a Staff Photographer in May 1971, he became the Chief Photographer in 1989 and then a Photo Editor. He retired in 1997.
Mr. Kothandaraman specialised in cricket coverage and provided memorable photographs of many Test matches in India and abroad. He was deputed to cover the Barcelona Olympics. He travelled with the Prime Ministers and Presidents and visiting dignitaries to cover their events in some of the southern States.
Mr. Kothandaraman is survived by two sons and three daughters.
