THIRUVANANTHAPURAM JULY 12. The representatives of the Inter- Church Council for Education, who met the Governor, R. L. Bhatia, today expressed concern over several clauses in the Kerala Self-Financing Professional Colleges Bill, 2004. They said that it would be difficult for the minority communities to run professional colleges in the self-financing sector. A high-level delegation led by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Thiruvananthapuram, Cyril Mar Baselios, that met the Governor at the Raj Bhavan submitted a memorandum saying that the Bill was against the interests of the minorities. It pointed out that the right of the minority communities to run self-financing colleges as per the guidelines of the Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court would also be curtailed with the implementation of the Bill.
