KOLKATA, JULY 13. Former champion Mohun Bagan kept its winning run intact beginning the new season confidently as it crafted an authoritative 3-1 win over Mohammedan AC in the Calcutta Football League's Super Division here at its home ground on Tuesday. The second successive win helped Mohun Bagan garner six full points for a positive start that should fuelling its hopes of wiping out the blight of two failed seasons. The action started differently on Tuesday as Mohammedan AC drew the first blood surprising the host with a 15th-minute goal by its nippy forward Ari Benjamin. The equaliser came up late as Mohun Bagan striker Ashim Biswas nodded home a Noel Wilson centre in the 42nd minute to end the first session at honours even. The second half was dominated by the host, which earned the lead in the 68th minute when its TFA recruit, Jerry Zirsanga, volleyed home a Sunil Chhetri setter following a Wilson freekick. Keeping up the pressure, Mohun Bagan sealed the win in the 84th minute seeing Chhetri work up a solo effort to score brilliantly. In another Super Division match, DTDC Tollygynge Agragami played out its second successive draw as it was held goalless by Wari AC. Our Sports Reporter
