Chennai, Sivaganga in quarterfinals

TIRUNELVELI, JULY 13. Chennai entered the quarterfinals of the 21st Tamil Nadu State sub-junior inter-district football championship after an emphatic 5-0 victory over Erode at Anna Stadium, Palayamkottai here on Tuesday. M. Ramesh (36th, 50th), Ravishankar (14th), S. Dixon (17th) and Hardeep Singh (47th) slotted for Chennai.

Sivaganga also made the last-eight grade with a 2-1 win over Tuticorin in another match.

Murthy (23rd) and Sundaresh (52nd) netted for Sivaganga, while Mukthar Ibrahim (68th) scored for Tuticorin.
