Six-year-old girl dies after falling into sump

BANGALORE, JULY 13. A six-year-old girl died after she fell into a sump at a house construction site at Geddalahalli in the Hennur police station limits on Tuesday.

The police said the girl, Sushma, was the daughter of one of the labourers, Shanthamma, and was a student at Government School at Hennur. Her body was removed and sent to Ambedkar Medical College for post-mortem, the police said.

Two die in accidents: Gangadhar (20) died when the scooter he was riding hit another scooter on Dr. Rajkumar Road at 6th Block, Rajajinagar, on Tuesday morning. His body is kept at Victoria Hospital, the police said.

The Assistant Head Master of a private school was killed on the spot when a lorry knocked down the motorcycle he was riding, in Banashankari police station limits on Tuesday.

The dead has been identified as N. Sethuram (52), Assistant Head Master of Model Education Trust School, Jayanagar.

Bodies recovered: The Kengeri Satellite Town police on Tuesday recovered the body of a 55-year-old woman from the Gandhinagar Lake in their jurisdiction. The body has not been identified. The Magadi Road police reportedly found the body of a man aged around 65 in a house under construction on West of Chord Road. He has not been identified.

Raid: The Central Crime Branch sleuths raided a computer-training institute on Cunningham Road on Monday and seized equipment worth Rs. 2 crore. The police said the institute, United Systems Infotech, was allegedly using pirated software.
