Cheating alleged

KOCHI, JULY 13. A group of Malayalis who sought employment in Dubai returned here today with tales of cheating by their agent. The 12 men hailing from Ernakulam and Thrissur districts had gone to Dubai three months ago on temporary visas by paying a Kunnamkulam-based agent Rs. 60,000. They said they had been forced to work as painters in Dubai, but they never got their wages.

SFI strike

The Students Federation of India (SFI) will go on a strike at all educational institutions in the district on July 15 in protest against the Government's favouring of the commercialisation of education
