ERODE, JULY 14. A children's film festival to be featured in 34 cinema theatres was inaugurated here by the district revenue officer (in-charge Collector), K. A. Annamalai, on Tuesday. He switched on the projector at Abirami Theatre to mark the inauguration. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the district would screen the films till July 24 at concessional rates. He said that in Erode, the films would be screened at Abirami, Aanoor, Royal, Lakshmi, Chandika, Star, Krishna, Manickkam, Anna, Bharathy, V.S.P. and Annapoorani theatres till July 17. In Perundurai, it would be screened on July 19 and 20 at Mahalakshmi, Devi, Chitra, Balamurugan, Kavitha and KVK theatres. On July 21 and 22, Indra, Nagiah, Saravana, Mohan, Sellakumar and Swamy theatres in Gobichettipalayam and Bhavani would screen the films. Gobald, Jaisakthi, Sathiya, Nirmala, Sriram and Sridevi theatres at Sathyamangalam would screen the film on July 23 and on July 24 it would be screened at Vasantha, S.V. Ram, Chenniappa, Swargam theatres at Dharapuram and Kangeyam areas. Totally five films have been selected and it would be screened on a rotation method. The Revenue Divisional Officer, Erode, R. Gajalakshmi, and Public Relation Officer, M.R. Lingam, have made arrangements to screen the films.
